Microsoft Windows is an example of which component of information systems? Microsoft windows would be an example of a software because it is an operating- system. 4. What is application software? Application software are softwares that can be found on the operating system as an application. An example of an application software would be angry birds. 5. What roles do people play in information systems? People use information systems everyday, to develop programs, gather statistics, retrieve data and send it as well. 6. What is the definition of a process? A chain of procedures that must take place to get a wanted outcome.
