REFLECTION PAPER 2 Reflection Paper: Importance of implicit bias in healthcare Implicit bias involves connections outside the conscious attentiveness that produce a negative assessment or perception of an individual based on irrelevant traits like race, nationality, color, and gender. Indeed, the brain is capable of processing huge volumes of information with each passing moment. The processing of information is what makes a person execute certain functions such as making decisions and taking a particular course of actions. Most of this occurs unknowingly which relieves a person from thinking a lot about most of the activities. The brain has the ability of processing situations swiftly since it depends on what it already knows. The memory assists the brain to classify and sort information for quick analysis without one being cognizant. Therefore, all the experiences and impressions that a person holds inform the present
