Video: Sir Ken Robinson – Changing Education Paradigms 1. Mr. Robinson is explaining that schools today are trying to teach students and balance cultural identity, globalization, and the economy by using the old educational system. He suggests that this was a great system during the enlightenment around the 19 th century, however today’s children disagree with the system because they believe they can survive without a degree. Now Mr. Robinson, argues that class grades should be based on ability of students and interests rather than their age. This is important because some students are better at learning in different environments such as day, night, large or small class size, etc. 2. From the video I learned how the education system came to be how it is today, and the different components of what is expected from the system to cover. For example, I did not know they were supposed to teach cultural identity or at least acknowledge one’s culture. I
