CNST 361 3-27-2008 Primavera is the parent company which creates and distributes many software packages for the construction industry. For scheduling purposes; Primavera Project Planner (also known as P3) and SureTrak Project Manager are the two packages available/ P3 is the high-end version (i.e. Many thousands of dollars per license) while SureTrak is an affordable option (hundreds of dollars) that has many of the same features as P3 without all the premium features. Upon starting P3 and creating a new project; a four character (no more or less) acronym is used to define the project. Each schedule in P3 is made-up of multiple files and as such there is no simple way to save your work without backing-up/ ‘zipping’/ consolidating the files into one file. One way to avoid trouble with saving your work is by using a thumb drive. This will allow you to run the schedule from the thumb drive no matter where you are working.
