INFORMATIVE SPEECH EVALUATION RUBRIC Final Grade: ______ out of 100 Oral Presentation and Visual Aid: _________ out of 70 Element Excellent Satisfactory Needs Improvement Unsatisfactory Introduction Speaker caught the attention of their audience, revealed their topic, established their credibility, and previewed the body of their speech. (10) Speaker included at least three of the four requirements of an introduction. Note that no more than one element may be missing or need significant improvement. (8) Speaker included at least two of the four requirements of an introduction. Note that no more than two elements may be missing or need significant improvement. (6) Speaker included no more than one requirement of an introduction. (4) Body Speaker clearly presented main points that included transitions between each point. (15) Speaker presented the main points. However, some transitions were not clearly stated or may have been missing. (13) Speaker presented information that may not have been clearly organized into individual points, but there was an overall flow to it. (11) Speaker did not present a well-organized speech. This speech may have little overall organization or flow, no or ineffective transitions, and/or information that was unclear and difficult to follow. (9) Conclusion Speaker signaled the end of their speech, summarized their main points, and closed memorably.
