EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GROUPS AND TEAMS AS THEY ARE USED IN AN ORGANIZATIONAgroup is a collection of individuals who coordinate their individual efforts. On the other hand, at team is a group of people who share a common team purpose and challenging goals.Members of teamare mutually committed to the goals and to each other. Without purpose and goals you cannot build a team.
TYPES OF GROUPSPRIMARY GROUPS: PRIMARY GROUPS HAVE A POWERFUL INFLUENCE ON THE MEMBER’S SELF-CONCEPT, AS WELL AS THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE INDIVIDUAL’S PERCEPTIONS AND ATTITUDES. SECONDARY GROUPS: SECONDARY GROUPS COMPRISE THE LARGER CIRCLE OF PEOPLE WE ASSOCIATE WITH, WORK AND PROFESSIONAL GROUPS WILL INFLUENCE HIS OR HER ATTITUDES AND PERCEPTIONS THROUGH VARIOUS INTERACTIONS WITH THESE DIFFERENT GROUPS.REFERENCE GROUPS: TO DESIGNATE A GROUP THAT AN INDIVIDUAL USES AS A “POINT OF REFERENCE” IN DETERMINING HIS OR HER JUDGMENTS, PREFERENCES, AND BEHAVIORS.
