2 Choose a television series that features schooling in some way The popular television show Glee has been featuring since 2009 to current. The show features around a fixation glee club known as “New Directions” of McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio. It constitutes students from all the races, different regions with various sexual orientation and clique. The cast includes various types of characters with superficial diversities. Glee displays various stereotypes on racism, gender and sexuality. For instance, there are various stereotypes surrounding the issue of homosexuality and gaysim in this show. For many years sex has been understood through a too-sex model whereby both the male and female partners are involved. Normal people are expected to practice the gender norms that includes male acting masculine and female being feminine. People who do not conform to the categories above are stigmatized or forced to take sides. In Glee we see a football coach named Shannon Beiste. The coach’s last name depicts her transgression of gender norms through showing a large woman who works in a masculine profession with a low voice. Another example is a character known as Kurt Hummel who is defined as abnormal based on his attraction to men. He tries as much as possible to be straight by listening to country music as seen in season 1 but he is unable to overcome the inner truth. Kurt finally embraces his feminine by calling himself “horary guy”
