Course Description : As our society faces difficult choices about the environment, it is important for us to be able to follow and participate in the discussion. This course is an important step in becoming an environmentally aware citizen. You will learn how scientists are studying the environment, searching for answers and for solutions to issues that will dramatically impact your everyday lives. You will learn how to gather, test, interpret, and report your own data in preparation for future science courses. Your effort determines your grade. Remember that time management is key to success!!! All returned work for each contract will be kept in class. Keeping track of these assignments is your insurance policy and your responsibility. You will also be asked to keep an interactive notebook (this tool will not only aid your study and test preparation, but will be graded periodically to ensure that you are keeping up with your tasks). Grading : Grades are composed of class work, projects, labs, tests/quizzes, daily starter work, a Final Exam and various additional assignments. Grade Average: Final Grade Average: Test 70% Grade Average 80% Daily Work 30% End of Year Exam + 20% Final Class Average Classroom Rules : 1. Be in your seat and follow the directions on the board. 2. Respect your fellow classmates, yourself and your teacher ALWAYS. 3. Always follow and instructions and stay on task.
