INTRODUCTION TODAY, RAPID IMPROVEMENTS AT ICT (INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY) AS THEY AFFECT EVERY OTHER AREA, THEY ALSO INFLUENCE AND CHANGE THE EDUCATIONAL FIELD. THE TEACHING AND LEARNING ENVIRONMENT ARE EMBRACING A NUMBER OF INNOVATIONS AND SOME OF THESE INVOLVE THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY THROUGH BLENDED LEARNING. THIS INNOVATIVE PEDAGOGICAL APPROACH HAS BEEN EMBRACED RAPIDLY THOUGH IT GOES THROUGH A PROCESS. AS A RESULT OF THOSE CHANGES, NEW APPROACHES TOWARDS LEARNING AND TEACHING PROCESSES HAVE COME TO POSSIBLE. THE INTRODUCTION OF BLENDED LEARNING (ONLINE TEACHING AND LEARNING) INITIATIVES IS PART OF THESE INNOVATIONS BUT ITS UPTAKE, ESPECIALLY IN THE DEVELOPING WORLD FACES CHALLENGES FOR IT TO BE AN EFFECTIVE INNOVATION IN TEACHING AND LEARNING.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM THE OBJECTIVE THIS STUDY IS TO INVESTIGATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF BLENDED LEARNING IN VIEW OF STUDENT SATISFACTION, KNOWLEDGE CONSTRUCTION, PERFORMANCE AND INTRINSIC MOTIVATION. SECOND, HOW THEY ARE RELATED TO STUDENT CHARACTERISTICS AND BLENDED LEARNING DESIGN FEATURES IN A BLENDED LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AND LAST TO DETERMINE BETWEEN THE FEATURES AND DESIGN OF BLENDED LEARNING AND, STUDENTS’ CHARACTERISTICS DO SIGNIFICANTLY INFLUENCE THE OUTCOMES.
