Mock Election Essay During the past few social studies classes, we started a mock election within the three classes- starting from twelve competing parties to only one president. In the mock elections, each class had four groups running for the place of the leading party, having the mutual objective of changing our class for the better. Each party had to create a campaign that would attract people to vote for them, including making posters, creating a video of the things they supported, and working for the need of others. When the campaign was over, we voted for the candidates in our class, and continued the mock election together. The winning group, along with the rest of the class, then would try to become president over all three classes in the ninth grade. After experiencing the election, I personally think that the whole process went by quite smoothly, as there were no major conflicts while the campaigns were happening, and all the groups cooperated with each other in order to make this election work.
