ii ABSTRAK Kursi mahasiswa merupakan salah satu fasilitas yang disediakan oleh perguruan tinggi kepada mahasiswa untuk menunjang proses perkuliahan. Namun dalam pemberian fasilitas ini masih ada kekurangan yaitu tidak sesuainya tinggi kursi dengan postur tubuh mahasiswa yang dapat menyebabkan ketidaknyamanan pada jangka pendek hingga kelainan tulang pada jangka panjangnya. Oleh sebab itu diperlukan pengendalian kualitas pada proses pembuatan kursi mahasiswa salah satunya terkait panjang kaki kursi yang diukur dari ujung kaki kursi hingga penyangga di bawah alas duduk. Pengendalian kualitas statistik adalah sebuah metode yang digunakan untuk mengendalikan suatu proses berdasarkan standar yang telah ditentukan. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer yang diperoleh dari hasil pengukuran kursi kayu yang terdapat di Departemen Statistika ITS. Terdapat 300 kursi yang diukur. Dengan analisis menggunakan peta kendali ̅ , dapat disimpulkan bahwa proses produksi kursi kayu ditinjau berdasarkan panjang kaki bagian kanan depan sudah terkendali secara statistik. Kemudian diperoleh hasil nilai Cp dan Cpk < 1 yang artinya akurasi dan presisi proses produksi rendah. Sedangkan pada diagram pareto, 38,2% kecacatan kursi disebabkan oleh lapuknya kayu. Sedangkan pada diagram ishikawa menggambarkan faktor yang mempengaruhi kecacatan kursi kayu antara lain sumber daya manusia, metode, material, dan environment.
