P: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. C: And also with you. (Please be seated) Invitation P: Sisters and brothers in Christ, God created us to be in communion with God, to love all people, and to live in harmony with all of God’s creation. However, sin separates us from God, our neighbor, and creation. Consequently, we do not enjoy the life our Creator intended for us. Also, God grieves because of our sins and desires us to turn back to God rather than come under judgment. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are called to struggle against everything that leads us away from love of God and love of neighbor, and to repent. Therefore, I invite you to confess your sins, and put your trust in a forgiving God. [Silence for reflection and self-examination] Confession ( R-Organ side ; L-Lectern side) Psalm 51 R: Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy, blot out my transgressions. L: Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. R: For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. L: Against you only have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so you are justified when you speak and blameless when you pass judgment. R: Indeed, I have been born into sin, and a sinner from my mother’s womb. L: For behold, you desire truth within me, and will teach me wisdom secretly in my heart. R: Purge me from my sin, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. L: Let me hear of joy and gladness, that the body you have broken may rejoice. R: Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. L: Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. R: Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. L: Restore unto me the joy of your salvation, and sustain me with your bountiful Spirit. Imposition of Ashes Those who desire to receive ashes may come forward and stand or kneel at the communion rail. The minister will apply ashes in the sign of the cross to the forehead of each person with the words “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” You may return to your seat as you desire. When all have returned to their seats, the confession continues. R : Now I will teach your ways to transgressors, and sinners will return to you.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
