Kidwiler, 1 Gianna Kidwiler 01.12 First Draft English II Honors Smith 10/11/19 Prompt: In this unit, you will select one character from “The Pomegranate Seeds” and create your own narrative that tells a different story about that character. Using narrative techniques and the concepts you have learned , write a prequel or sequel to “The Pomegranate Seeds.” I, Proserpina, have a green thumb which comes from my sweet mother, Ceres, the goddess of agriculture, grain, and the love a mother bears for her child. We have an inseparable bond, however being the daughter of a motherly goddess can be somewhat overbearing. My whole life my mother has nurtured and stood by me, watching and correcting every step I have made. Although most of the time she is right, which she makes clear to me by constantly using the phrase, “mother knows best,” it can be difficult dealing with the fact that I can’t learn from my own mistakes. This being said, I have always been intrigued by the thought of making my own decisions. On a day just like any other, I was out planting seeds in my flourishing garden. As usual, my mother joined me, teaching and guiding me using her agricultural skills. I had
