While reading the Mindell article, it was interesting and a little too odd to me that the problem scientists now have isn’t really all that technical, but are problems that are non- technological. Their problem with cars in the future has nothing to do with the technology but rather the weather, and things we cannot really control. On one side, this might be a positive thing because it shows how far advanced technology is now, enough so that mistakes that are made will not be due to lack of knowledge in technology. But on the flip side, this is also disheartening, since nature and the weather is not something that we can control, so it may be that this limitation in technology may be extremely difficult, or even impossible to conquer. The details about the crash also made me realize once again that it’s not only the technology aspect that causes technology to fail; human error is very prevalent and is often the cause of the accident. It was also interesting to see how detailed, organized, and tidy the pilots have to be for
