12 Angry Men Reflection Fonda is a bit timid at first, reluctant and hesitant to speak up for what he believes. Rather, in the beginning scenes, Cobb uses pressure to show his authority and try to manipulate Fonda to change his vote, saying things like, “you think he’s not guilty? I never saw a guiltier man in my life.” Throughout the course of the movie, Cobb continues to use coercive power , as seen in the scene of Fonda pulling out the same knife that the boy supposedly used, and Cobb remarking, “Maybe there are 10 knives like that? So what? The boy lied, and you know it!” He makes this grand presence in front of the other jurors so that he could express his authority and try to convince everyone that the boy is guilty. Later on however, Fonda shows incredible power and authority , his use of influence tactics making him the more authoritative and convincing. The scene where he uses the testimony of the two witnesses and proves their disparity shows that Fonda uses rational persuasion

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
