The Labour Market The labour market is the market for a factor of production - labour It refers to the demand for labour – by employers and the supply of labour (provided by potential employees) Demand for labour is a derived demand – it depends on demand for the product the worker is producing. Eg if there was no demand for economics tuition, the will be no demand to employ economics tutors. The greater the demand for roads the higher the demand for construction workers.
