Surname 1 Name: Instructor: Course name: Date of submission: Art Analysis The painting is a two-dimensional projecting the desired art work. The painter has employed rather dull hues such as brown, grey, cream, light green and sky blue shades. The colors are purposefully chosen with the intent of promoting the painting’s dark theme. The colors are not vivid deliberately as the other has focused on enhancing the dull effect through the use of less saturated shades of the aforementioned colors. It suffices that there is less contrast in the painting’s colors. The space in the portrait is well occupied by the subjects against the backdrop of a cloudy skyline and cotton plantation. The painting has harmony due to the use of colors that are less contrasting as well as the similarities observed in the subjects. The placement of visual units or subjects on the art is asymmetrical. One can observe a type of equilibrium in the total form of the artistic concept. The white subject in the painting is dominant as he is centrally placed literally and thematically.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
