Noah Pinto EXP101L 9/25/17 The majority of the film Everybody Wants Some!! is spent showing the relationships evolve between each of the players on the team and their desire to attend parties and hook up with college girls. Although the film follows the story of a college baseball team beginning their college year and partying, there are also many hidden meanings and lessons throughout the film. Richard Linklater, the director of the film, gives the viewers an interesting representation of college life and masculinity in the 80s through his use of architypes and setting of the film. I was not born in the 80s so I have no idea what college was like during that time period. According to Linklater’s perspective, college in the 80s for most students consisted of partying and trying to pick up girls. Although this sounds similar to the college lifestyle today, the characters and setting helped portray the time period. For example, the first party that the team went to together was disco themed. All of the players were wearing clothes that most people
