1. What is the purpose of the website? This website is a tool for teachers to help educate their children and be active participants in a diverse democracy. This website provides free resources for all teachers to use. Educators use the materials to supplement the curriculum and to create school communities where children are respected, valued and welcome participants. The program in the website emphasizes social justice and anti-bias. One of the approaches of being anti-bias helps students and young people to challenge prejudice and how to be a change in their own lives. 2. Read one of the current event articles on the home page. Summarize the article. What did you learn from it? Be specific. That article I chose to read was the one titled “Black Minds Matter”. This article was about two black girls that were bullied and, in the end, killed themselves.
