Dr. Hossain’s Tips for doing well in his Exams 1. Try to spread out the preparation over a regular schedule. Do not leave the tasks for the last minute. You may forget most of the lessons if you wait too long. 2. Study the chapters thoroughly and review notes from the lecture for each chapter. Think about the in class exercises, questions asked for discussions, and the examples cited illustrating various concepts. 3. You are encouraged to use the powerpoints for a general idea but they are not a substitute for the text. 4. Review the end of chapter questions and prepare short answers. 5. After doing the above, take online quizzes in the students’ resources provided by the publisher. Practice makes one perfect. 6. Study in a group or at least with another classmate. When you study, try to apply the concepts to marketing situations you are aware of. Try to come up with examples. 7. When you study in a group, try to explain the subject to your classmate. The best way to learn is to teach it. 8. During the test, stay calm. Do not overanalyze the questions, meaning do not read too much into the questions. Rather, use only the information given and the concepts as they are meant to be applied. OUTLINE: Chp 2: Strategic Planning & Competitive Advantage Disclaimer: The following constitutes an outline only and covers the essentials . In order to do really well, you should thoroughly study each chapter. Use the practice questions as well.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
