Part A – Written Assessment Research Project 1. Are all relevant key legislations included in the DET policy? (Eg Gender Equality Act) All the key legislations were included in the DET policy. Upon reviewing the policy and related documents the DET policy really highlights the importance of equal employment opportunity, gender equality, disability discrimination, racial discrimination, and sex discrimination. Although they disability discrimination and sex discrimination I would say could have been given almost the same weight as to the other factors. The policy has made sure they offer equal employment opportunities to the whole workforce without singling one person or groups of people because of their sex, race, gender, sexual orientation, national or ethnic groups or even because they have disability. The NSW Department of Education really embraces the importance of workforce diversity as a true source of strength in uplifting the quality of education they offer. As mentioned in their policy, they did not create this to increase the visible differences in the workforce but more
