Cardiovascular Physiology Overview Learning Goals. By the end of this lab, you should be able to Identify and describe the function of each structure of the lung and the heart that are listed in the protocol Use pressure gradients to explain the flow of blood through the heart, lungs and body. Predict the consequences of defects in cardiac valves. State the relationship between events in the cardiac cycle and the peaks of an ECG. List factors that cause changes in CO, SV, HR, MAP and TPR. Predict the effects of either diseases or physical activity on cardiac output, stroke volume, heart rate, mean arterial pressure and total peripheral resistance. The lab will build on background information. You should be to do the following before you take the associated physiology review quiz.
