Week8 lecture reflection Monday: memorial holiday Tuesday: How to be authentic in our life? This is the question concerned me the most after the class. I think it means to act from your own genuine feelings, motivations, and desires, as opposed to those which you may have adopted to please others, to fit into society, or from some other external source. Perhaps you are asking how we distinguish between genuine impulses and those we have adopted falsely; what if one is genuinely happy to please others, or has no real preference among movies and music and so simply consumes what is popular? Is that person being false to himself or herself? That’s all we got to care about. Moreover, I think supporting the genuine stuffs can also embody if you are an authentic person. Wednesday: Today, Sal introduced a new concept to us. At least its new to me, “The Canon”. It includes both the positive and negative outcome which I think is kind of like a double edge sword.
