Janine Teisha Quean O. Caber PI 10 Life’s not a Movie but Rizal’s is an Exception The Philippines as a Spanish colony was exploited and run down by forces of injustice, violence and fear from the Western usurpers. In elementary books, Christianity is the only thing that compensates hundreds of years of immense burden colonialism has put the archipelago under. Religion played a key part in the formation of this nation but the church was also the main source of great suffering. Oppressed, distressed, and filled with an unquenchable thirst of freedom for the Filipino people, Rizal rose as a great medium for igniting the low embers rumbling inside waiting to go ablaze. He was the perfect man for the job, had a vast educational background, had the right timing, had flowing devotion for the country, had the proper people to help him in his and the country’s endeavors. He also made sure to awaken the nationalistic side of his Filipino comrade in Spain by showing them that he possesses this side. Emphasizing what’s needed in the country, reforms, equality and honor for Filipinos as Filipinos. He was determined to publish the truth and nothing but the truth. He was not afraid of the walls that he was up against with therefore risking his safety, his life. He was a man with conviction, he walked the walk, and talked the talk.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
