Three primary objectives 1) To describe the basic organization and operation of the earth system, and how human activities push this system into a disrupted state 2) To identify the major sectors of human society that impact the environment, and how human institutions can help mitigate these damages 3) To describe the concepts of environmental justice and sustainability, and to apply these concepts during debates on environmental issues
