SOCIAL PROBLEM 2 Social Problem in the free market system A free market is a market system that allows the vendors and consumers to set the price of goods and services, with little or no intervention from the government. A free market is not allowed in some cases such as drug prohibition. One social problem that results from the limitation of the sale of drugs and the war on drugs is that some people may lack easy access to medication. For instance, marijuana is used to treat conditions such as appetite loss cancer, Alzheimer's disease epilepsy, and Glaucoma among others (Gupta & Gupta, 2018). Nonetheless, when marijuana is prohibited in the market or rather, its supply is limited, many sick people may implicitly lack easy access to medication. Prohibition of marijuana in the market has caused more negative effects than positive effects. For example, for consumers of cannabis, when the drug is illegalized and penalties based on grams in possession, the consumers may see sense in buying more potent drugs to avoid more significant legal penalties. For dealers, on the other hand, it makes sense to grow potent drugs to charge more for a small amount, and the supplies are more comfortable to transport and hide.

SOCIAL PROBLEM 3 Another example of the harmful effects of the prohibition of drugs and limitation in the market is the 1919 alcohol prohibition in which alcohol economy was abruptly made illegal. Consequently, consumers turned to the black market to consume alcohol. With increased pressure, alcohol changed and consumed switched to available products. Notably, spirits became commonly available on the black market, something that made sense. On the other hand, gangsters transporting alcohol found it easy to carry a barrel of gin or whiskey than to transport eight barrel of beer. As already mentioned, marijuana prohibition has similar effects on cannabis. As it is prohibited it becomes even stronger than in the past. It has also resulted in the changing of product available to consumers on the black market. Therefore, it is essential to discuss the impact of allowing free market features in supply and demand for such products.
