Directions Read the instructions for this self-checked activity. Type your response to each question and check your answers. At the end of the activity, write a brief evaluation of your work. Activity In this activity you will write a lyric poem. Consider what you have learned about poetry so far in this lesson and unit. Write a lyric poem on an appropriate topic of your choice. Because lyric poetry focuses on exploring and evoking the speaker’s moods and thoughts without telling a story, your poem should do this as well. Your poem should include these elements: a clear purpose or goal a focused exploration of a particular theme ±gurative language
