Understanding color-blindness and its impact on visual content and creation - 5/9/19 Although it was only mentioned it in passing during Tuesday’s class, it is important when creating or analyzing any type of visual to understand the implications of potential color- blindness of a viewer and how that can impact their interpretation of said visual. This can become very important when the visual they are analyzing can result in consequences if interpreted incorrectly. Consider the example of a horizontally mounted traffic light: a person with red-green color blindness (protanomaly / protanopia) may not be able to tell which of the lights is red and which is green, instead having to rely on the actions of cars around them. You can see the impact below, with a normal traffic light on the left, and how it would look to someone who is protanopic, or lacking red cone cells, on the right. Therefore, for this exercise we will do a comparison of an image of your choosing as it appears
