HEALTH PROMOTION 2 Health Promotion The causes of the poor health of indigenous peoples are economical and social exclusion, low income, unemployment, homelessness and sanitation, education and lack of nutrition. The health of indigenous peoples is much worse than that of other Australians, but they often have much less access to health services. In the past, Aboriginal people had little influence on these factors and policy decisions that affected their lives and health (King, Smith, & Gracey, 2009). The poor state of health of the natives of today must be seen in the historical context of general attitudes and policies towards the rural indigenous group proclaimed by state and territorial governments. The Commonwealth has only been empowered since 1967 to solve the problems of indigenous peoples, and it has recently been widely recognized that indigenous peoples must control their lives and enjoy the same rights as other Australians.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
