Disliked Folkways (A)Handwritten Thank-you notes are not as common in this day and age because of the technology of mobile phones. It is much easier to text or call someone and thank them for a gift you received rather than finding a card and mailing it to their house. The many people that still write Thank-you notes are usually older and do it to show their appreciation for what they received, but it is much more convenient and timelier to thank someone via mobile phone or email. (B) Men – remove your hat while inside It has been inappropriate for men to wear hats indoors. It has been considered rude and disrespectful for men but not so much for women. People taking off their hat started when people would wear head covers to protect their eyes from dirt and dust. It was common to also put your hat on a hanger near the entrance. Now, both men and women wear them inside for reasons like fashion. (C) The folkway to stop wearing white after Labor Day is out of date in my opinion. Living in Southern California it is warm and sunny year-round.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
