Poverty Videos (A) I was fascinated by how little take home pay Morgan and his fiancé, Alex, had out of their hourly pay each week. It was quite depressing how Morgan had to work two jobs for a total of 18 hours a day and they still could not make ends meet as a couple. I had not realized that places such as the church run store had all they needed to furnish their apartment. I feel this was a God send for them. It seemed like profiling for the electric company to require a deposit solely based on the address being in a poor neighborhood. (B) In San Diego county, on Imperial Avenue, a studio apartment costs a minimum of $637 per month. I would estimate that utilities cost $150 per month for a total need of $787 without food or clothing. This would be the largest difference and cause them to have more money initially since a weekly base salary for two people assuming a 57 percent take home pay, based on getting about $4 take home from $7 hourly salary, for both of them would be about $500 with $2,000 a month.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
