Nitel bir ara ş t ı rma olan bu çal ı ş mada olgubilim deseni kullan ı lm ı ş t ı r. Bu ara ş t ı rma Anadolu’daki bir üniversitenin okul öncesi ö ğ retmenli ğ i bölümünde okuyan toplam 115 ö ğ retmen aday ı n ı n kat ı l ı m ı ile gerçekle ş tirilmi ş tir. Ara ş t ı rma sonucuna göre, ö ğ retmen adaylar ı toplamda 87 farkl ı metafor üretmi ş lerdir. Ö ğ retmen adaylar ı n ı n kulland ı klar ı en fazla metafor ‘hazine olmu ş tur. Erkek ö ğ retmen adaylar ı n ı n ‘üstün yetenekli çocuk’lar ı na ili ş kin alg ı lar ı en çok ‘teknoloji’ ve ‘de ğ er’ kategoride toplanm ı ş t ı r. Birinci s ı n ı fta ö ğ renim gören ö ğ retmen adaylar ı n ı n en fazla ‘de ğ er’ kategorisine ait metaforlar ı ürettikleri dördüncü s ı n ı f ö ğ retmen adaylar ı n ı n ise ‘de ğ er’ ve ‘insani özellik’ kategorilerinde metafor olu ş turduklar ı görülmü ş tür. Anahtar Sözcükler: Okul öncesi ö ğ retmen aday ı , Metafor, Üstün yetenek ABSTRACT The aim of this study is to reveal preschool teacher candidates’ metaphoric perceptions regarding gifted children. Phenomenon design was adopted as appropriate to the nature of this qualitative research. This research was carried out with the participation of a total of 115 teacher candidates who are enrolled to pre-school teacher's department of a university in Anatolia. According to the results of study, teacher candidates produced 87 different metaphors in total. ‘Treasure’ is the most used metaphor by teacher candidates for gifted identification. The perception of male teacher candidates was categorized under the headings of ‘technology and value’ mostly.
