In both age stages a child grows in height 2. In both stages the child gains more weight Differences: 1. During ages 2-6 the bodies of a child are slenderer (shape). 2. Age 6-11 is the only time when girls tend to be taller than boys. (Feldman,2017) 3. Define puberty. How do boys and girls differ in terms of body growth during puberty? Definition: period when the pituitary gland in the brain signals other glands to begin producing sex hormones. Maturation of sexual organs.
