Annova- Anoroxia Annova is used to measure if there is any difference between variables. The objective is to check whether the weight has changed for the three groups after the treatment (post-pre). Ho: All the three treatment groups' average weight change was the same. H1: At least one of the treatment group's average weight changes was different. Conditions of annova i. Dependant variable must be continuous ii. Independent variable must have 3 or more categorical groups. Conditions to check if Annova is applicable: 1. Infer from the mean difference if Annova is justified (Use error bar for more certainty) 2. Check for outliers 3. Check for normality 4. Check for homogeneity 5. Perform multiple comparison test to find out which group differs from which group 1. Infer from the mean difference if Annova is justified (Use error bar for more certainty) Analyze-compare means-Means-Dependant list= post-pre; independent list= treatment group- ok Report post-pre weight treatment group Mean N Std. Deviation behavioral treatment 3.0069 29 7.30850 control -.4500 26 7.98870 family therapy 7.2647 17 7.15742 Total 2.7639 72 7.98360 From this we can see that there was an increase in avg weight for behavioral treatment group and family therapy but the control group remained the same. From this we can infer that there was an average weight change between the groups thus we can use Annova, but we still need further test to confirm that.
To strengthen this assumption that there is a change and Annova is applicable we use an error bar: Graphs-Legacy dialogue-Error bar-Define-Variable= post-pre; Category axis= treatment group-ok

### What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

Kiran Temple University Fox School of Business ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

Dana University of Pennsylvania ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
