EXERCISE 2 Introduction Obesity has become prevalent in the US particularly in the southern areas like North Carolina. The behavioral change project that I have selected is increasing my physical activity for the next six weeks by exercising a minimum of three days every week. With the rise in obesity in the country, I believe it is significant to be fit and maintain a healthy diet. Increasing physical activity is hard. However I learned a lot about myself throughout the time, and I am grateful I was able to accomplish the challenging task. In the past, I tried various times to achieve this aim. However, I noticed when doing the project I was able to be more comfortable with the exercises. One of the main challenges that I faced was time management. I was never able to find time to fit my workout routine while having to work, meet project deadlines and prepare for exams. While the exercises assisted me in providing it also helped in preventing the stress I continuously have in life. The American Heart Association (2016) reported that among the Americans aged over 20 years over 154 million are obese or overweight, 74 million were women and 79 million were men. Not only are the adults in the US are obsessed but also the children. About 23.9 million adolescents and children aged 2-19 years are obese and overweight with 15% being girls’ and33% being boys. With the increased obesity among children could potentially become the leading cause of death. The number of childhood and adult obesity is even more significant among the Hispanic and African American communities whereby about 40% of the adults and children are obese and overweight. One of the recommended methods of decreasing obesity among children is through increased physical activity and having a balanced diet.

EXERCISE 3 Intervention Plan to Change The many health benefits of exercising include weight loss increased bone density, stronger lungs and heart, lower the risk of heart diseases, more energy, more confidence, relief from daily stressors The behavioral change techniques the strategy which assists a person to change their behavior to promote better health.
