Surname 1 Student’s Name Tutor’s Name Institution Course Date of Submission The Glorious Cause The book Glorious written by Robert Middlekauff's articulates on the causes for which the colonialists struggled for freedom and independence. It is an equally glorious story of the events that transformed the world, capturing the intense and enthusiastic struggles of a free nation. The book narrates of the thirteen colonies that revolted against the mother nation of Great Britain to create their free countries. The story commences with the close of French and Indian warfare, where the British Empire turned successful, that was the most significant power of North America, as well as the definite ruler of the sea. The narration culminates with George Washington becoming the first president of the United States of America. At times we tend to consider the American Revolt occurring from 1774 to 1783 though, according to Robert Middlekauff, the revolt started early in the 1760s. The author articulates this although the American divergence with the mother nation in the late 1760s and the early section of 1770s concerned their rights as the British issues in the Empire, not attempting to look from it. From the book, the author argues out that the revolt did not culminate at Yorktown but with the Constitutional Convention, the Constitution’s confirmation, as well as the swearing in of President George Washington.
