By elaborating their lives at the internment camps, Japanese-Americans had no choice but their lives as political prisoners. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, all Americans with Japanese origin were treated as enemies forcing to abandon their properties and live as captives. Besides discrimination, these individuals were treated poorly and could not carry out activities as desires. After the war, most Japanese-Americans had lost their belongings and forced to endure hardships to survive in America. As life became harder, several Japanese-Americans went back to Japan. However, Jeanne chose to bear the struggle with her family since she believed America was a place of better. Decades after the war, American government issued apologies and compensations to every surviving Japanese internee for the violation of human rights.
