Symphonic Band Disclosure Teacher: Mr. Brian Parker Room: 143 Email: [email protected] Phone: (801) 610-8805 ext. 143 Website: Course Objectives: The Symphonic Band serves as the auditioned intermediate band that participates in several concerts, festivals and performances throughout the year. Students are required to participate in the school solo/ensemble festival in early spring. Full-year enrollment required. All students are expected to participate in the football pep band. Expectations: My expectations are simple. I expect students to have PRIDE. P – Passion R – Respect I – Integrity D – Dedication E – Excellence Course Materials: A working instrument Clarinets/Saxes: 3 hard strength quality reeds (minimum), reed case, swab, cork grease, mouthpiece cap Flutes: Cleaning rod, cleaning cloth, polishing cloth Brass: valve/slide oil, polishing cloth, cleaning kit, mutes (straight, cup, others as needed) Method book – Habits of a Successful Musician Fees: Class Participation Fee $50 Concert Black Fee: Ladies - $74 (top and skirt); Gentlemen - $100-114 (tuxedo jacket, pants, shirt, cumberbund, bowtie) (This is a one-time purchase. Returning students will not be assessed this fee if their concert attire is still serviceable.) Method Book: $10 Instrument Rental (if applicable): $70.00 Grading: Performances – 100 pts.
