It is considered one of the highest moral virtues often corrected to love, empathy, and benevolence. For example, Confucius said, “You achieve Ren if everywhere under Heaven you can practice the five: courtesy, breadth, good faith, diligence and clemency”. In this sense, a person of Ren is a morally perfect person, and Ren may be translated as “perfect virtue,” “goodness,” and “human excellence.” (Molloy,2013) Li – is the word translated as “doing what is appropriate” (Molloy, 2013). Its original meaning correlated to proper carrying out of rites and rituals. In terms of social harmony, the term means using correct words and actions in the context of social life. Li is the mechanism by which all of life is ritualized and declared sacred in a sense. Yi – is the virtue directed toward the cultivation of ren and li . It is defined by the balanced comprehension of situation and having ability to think about proper implementation of virtues. Zhi – is considered a fundamental substance from which an individual is made. One can comprehend the notion through learning and practice. It allows building proper character traits. Xin – is the virtue linked to a person’s ability to be faithful and keeping one’s word. In such case, the virtue requires following standards of courtesy, especially when it comes to conflict situations (Molloy, 2013).

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
