An application of the attachment theory to the case of TiffaniAttachment theory is a psychological model that recognizes the importance of interpersonal relationships on an individual’s personality development. Tiffani Bradley has been court ordered to reside in a group home and receive counseling as a result of her history of running away from home, arrests, and confusion over whether to return to her family or reunite with her pimp. Numerous factors in her life, beginning when she was a child, have impacted her perception of healthy relationships and her self-esteem. The attachment theory applies to her case, because Tiffani was never able to develop a healthy relationship with her parents or other adults (uncle), therefore she was never afforded the opportunity to develop socially and emotionally.
