In such a diverse world, what commonalities do we share with other peoples? What are their stories? Cultural Anthropology strives to understand human diversity within the context of culture, place, and history! [Photo Source: ] Course Description Anthropology encompasses a vast array of details regarding how humans live their lives, and in this class, we will be investigating many aspects of culture in order to gain a better understanding of human life. One major topic we will explore is what “culture” itself is all about, and how it brings people together over years and enormous geographical distances. As we go through this course, you will gain a better understanding of human diversity as well as a better sense of self. Not one of us is a SIMPLE being – we all live lives filled with complexities that we often cannot understand or even completely identify. What Anthropology does is give each one of us more insight into what it is to be human and, more importantly, HOW to understand OURSELVES as humans – WHO we are, WHAT we are, and WHY we are. Communications In an online course, it is best to contact me through the Canvas Inbox (first choice) or by e- mail, as you have a better opportunity for receiving a response within two days. However, please be advised that I am not online 24/7. I cannot always respond to e-mails on the weekends or holidays. When e-mailing me anything make sure to e-mail me from your RCCD account only and state the class and the section number in the section line, followed by your last, then first, name. (Example: ANT-2-25481 Johnson, Sarah) Many times, e-mails sent to me from accounts other than RCCD go to my spam folder. If you do not hear from me within two business days, please re-submit your e-mail, just to make sure that I got it! Regular assignments are NOT accepted as e-mail attachments. Instead, they must be completed online or per instructions. Online Course Prerequisites 1

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
