Self-management refers to the practice of an individual taking responsibility for their behaviors as well as well-being (Ryan and Sawin, 2019). This intervention is often hindered by specific barriers that bar an individual to effectively enact self-management practices Barriers are considered as a person's estimation of the level of challenge regarding social, personal, environmental as well as economic obstacles within a specified behavior as well as desired goals status on that particular behavior. The barriers are presumed to cause an effect that relates to minimum changes in self-efficacy expectations as well as problem-solving attempts. Self-management would entail adherence as well as compliance that reflect the role of agency and self-determination engaged in health-promoting or disease management behaviors (Ryan and Sawin, 2019). Education is important in creating awareness and informing the public on various interventions that may be used to solve a certain problem (Schulman‐Green et al., 2012). The response promotes health literacy and thus ensuring individuals are aware of the necessities to promote self-management by eliminating individual and environment based barriers. Education helps in highlighting barriers that hinders promotion of self- management practices among human beings. Hence, individuals will be in a position to identify the barriers effectively and formulate interventions that promote self-management in the long run.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
