Given the production capacity of 50000 cars per year achieving the set target seems like a difficult feat to achieve in the first year. The competition from the two wheelers and Maruthi Suzuki only adds to the already high bar set by the limited production capacity. The production capacity is said to increase to 3.5 lacs after 18-24 months. Since Nano is more Fuel efficient and easier to drive in the city and parking is easier in tight spaces. Price tag of Rs 1 Lac is amazing and attractive comparing it with 2 wheelers pricing. Sales Goal of 10 Lacs cars per year is more of a stretch and ideally should be around 7 Lac cars per year. 2.
