Developing Systematic Review Topic using PiCo Model Introduction Developing a systematic research review using the PiCo model is a challenging task faced by scholars at the beginning of a project. The unaddressed issues in strategic management tend to provoke researchers to develop a strategic management question. This paper provides a step-by-step guideline on how to formulate a systematic research review starting from a research question with the help of a PiCo model. Formulating a research question and topic A research question refers to an uncertainty regarding a problem that needs to be challenged, evaluated and analyzed to come up with important information (Wood & Ross-Kerr, 2006). Developing a successful research review is depended on how a researcher develops a researchable question that is based on the problems faced by the target population in their daily activities. The underlying study questions in any project provide crucial information used in deciding if the topic is significant, researchable and relevant. A properly formulated research question/topic involves extreme preciseness and specificity which helps in implementing the project by considering different variables and target population. In this case, the research question is developed using the PiCo model which is composed of three elements: population, interest, and context. Population refers to a group of interest that is facing a specific challenge noted by the researcher.
