The influence of leadership behavior and organizational commitment on organizational readiness for change in a higher learning institution. Asia Pacific Education Review . Retrieved from For a chance to be implemented in any organization several factors need to be focused upon. However, most change efforts fail because organizations do not focus on factors such as the leadership style, lack of commitment and emotional distress of the workforce. To be able to understand how these factors influenced change in an organization the author of the article conducted a study to determine how the leadership behavior and the organizational commitment influence an organizational readiness towards change. For an explicit understanding of the relationship between leadership behavior and organizational commitment to the organizational change, the author used a population of 169 participants who were academic staff of the UiTM. The participants were selected based on the cluster and stage to eliminate biases in the study. Upon conducting the study, the author concluded that the research provided an in-depth understanding of the relationship between leadership behavior and work attitude during the change process. Additionally, the results attained from the study provided suggestions that organizational commitment and leadership behavior were significant influencers of change in an organization. Other additional information that was unique from the research was that for an organization to successful formulate organizational change readiness and strategies it needs to develop a strong organizational commitment and leadership approaches. Another uniqueness of the study was that it was conducted on a specific higher learning institution academic staff.
