Brief Censoring private information from network packet tracesTraces of the packets sent across a network (as presented by sniffers such as Wireshark and tcpdump) can be useful for troubleshooting network problems. However, they can also include private information such as credentials (passwords, cookies and keys) and names/addresses that someone who seeks help in troubleshooting network problems may not wish to disclose.
