Tiffany Skyler CCJ1020 Professor Michael Hughes 1. Can a single standard of ethics be applied to all criminal justice agencies? Or is the world too complex to legislate morality and ethics? One may think that a single standard of ethics could be the norm among all criminal justice agencies. However, with the many different situations that arise, it brings up so many important ethical questions that can pertain to those situations. Take for example a woman murdering her abuser. This woman may have been abused for many years and just couldn’t take it anymore and ended up fighting back during a confrontation that ended with fatal results. Like the text asks, “Who is the victim here, and who is the aggressor?” (Siegel, L.J. & Worrall, J.L. 2016). Should this woman be charged with murder after dealing with mental, emotional, and physical abuse for years? This woman is not the victim and should be charged with killing this man vs. this woman is the victim and should not be charged for killing this man. This kind of situation would have valid arguments on both sides of this ethical issue. The world is definitely too complex to legislate morality and ethics with all the millions of people who all have different views.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
