Draw on the information provided in this and other chapters, on your own experience as a student, teacher, administrator, parent, and/or taxpayer; and on other relevant reading and experience. Your overall model should include subsystems that evaluate programs, teaching and administration. Be sure to consider issues of responsibility for follow-up and continued assessment of results. When you have completed designing the model, be prepared to discuss the implications of putting the plan into effect in a real school in the real world. Washington High School needs an evaluation system like the TADS evaluation three tier, collaborative program. The Houston Independent School District, the seventh largest in the nation, enacted the TADS (Teacher Appraisal and Development System) in 2015-2016 school year. First, through a two-part process, a teacher selects her own professional development areas as well as areas that she knows as a professional need to improve. Next, the teacher evaluates each student after the first month of classes to set goals for beginning of the year assessments and topic related content project or essay. After those two components are considered, an administrator observes and evaluates the teacher.
