Employment becomes unusual, pays little. protection-racket victims, few services (but these services were not as available to African American neighborhoods ESPECIALLY police- St. Louis County Missouri- the city was going to use data to post speed traps effectively, BUT they purposely Put the speed traps around low income neighborhoods (mostly African American) because they didn’t have connections to city hall to have the tickets overturned. When the cops shot Michael Brown that was the straw that broke the camel's back. stuck in urban ghost towns in homes nobody wants to buy 40+% in poverty Patrimonial violence, policing make spectacles, SES distinction, and racial solidarity.
