Mineral Particles They are the largest ingredients and make up approximately 45% of soil structure. The original rock that got broken down by weathering action and erosion to form the basis of soil. The parent breaks down which produces minerals such as calcium phosphorus and potassium. The parent rock influences soil color, depth, and texture and ph. value of the soil.
